December 8th and as sad as we were to leave Scotland …. it was getting a tad bit cold and it was time to head for warmer weather! Spain here we come!!
Rory found a great deal on flights to Alicante. We’d stop here for the night and then drive 4 hours to Nerja the next day, where we would stay until until mid-December before heading off to our final destination of this year of travel.
We had less than 24 hours here – but made sure that we saw as much as possible. We’d never been to Alicante before.
It took about 20 minutes to drive from our hotel into Alicante. We found a place to park and walked the port and beach/boardwalk.
Lots and lots of people out and of course we had to stop for gelato. One of the things we love about Spain is that people are always out, walking, strolling, letting the kids play, eating together, talking together. The sense of family and connection always feels so strong here.
Our stop in Alicante was short and sweet – looks like there’s alot more here to see and do … but thanks for the quickie and farewell for now.

The sun was really bright on the drive to Nerja – Rohan used the map as a shield.

Boardwalk all along the beach. Lots of shops and restaurants right here.
