We’re in the final stretch – 10 sleeps until we are on our way to Panama (and the start of our year long adventure). It feels like this all came together so quickly and who would have thought that there were so many details to take care of, moving pieces to navigate, considerations and options, and oh so many decisions to make. Thank god for my amazing husband Rory – who has taken so much of this on ~ making sure we have travel insurance, banking/debit cards/credit cards, he’s booked our travel and researched accommodations, he has worked on our taxes, has rented our house, has sold our Subaru while I continued working till last Friday.
It’s still a bit surreal.
I had lunch with some of my Bayer colleagues yesterday and it feels like I’m just taking a week off – a stay-cation to organize my house … I’m not sure the reality of it will actually hit me / us until we walk out of our house next weekend handing the keys over to the lovely family from Australia who will call our home their home … or maybe even not till we’re on the plane, or perhaps not until we realize after a few weeks that we’re not just on vacation.
What I do know is that we feel so blessed to be able to have this opportunity. We’re so blessed to have friends and family that are being so amazing, helpful, supportive. We look forward to sharing our adventure with you – and remember that we love visitors! If you’re feeling you’re up for an adventure, come and join us!
Now I best get back to the packing and organizing…
